Furniture World News on

Cornerstone Health Care providers will continue to provide free minor medical care to the visitors to the April 2006 Market in cooperation with High Point Regional Health System and the International Home Furnishings Market Authority. James C. Anderson, MD, Vice-President of Cornerstone Health Care and founder and manager of the project, confirmed that care will again be provided from the Hospital's HOPE Unit, which will be parked in a central location on Wrenn Street, behind the Radisson Hotel. Cornerstone providers will man the 44-foot-long bus-like health care facility from 10 am until 5 pm, Wednesday April 26 through and including Tuesday, May 2. The minor medical care program was introduced in October, 2003 with the number of patients treated increasing each market. Grace E. Terrell, MD, President of Cornerstone, said the bi-annual contribution of personnel, medications and supplies by this large physician group is a tangible way in which the company, one of the top employers in High Point, shows its support of this major economic event. “Market is important to every one of us, and I encourage other business leaders in the Triad to explore ways they may use their company assets to make High Point the best experience it can be for our visitors,” Dr. Terrell added. According to Brian Casey, President of the IHFMA, the service represents a valuable benefit, “By providing free minor medical care to our out-of -town visitors, Cornerstone Health Care and High Point Regional Health System help those who may become ill away from their family doctors get back to business quickly through convenient, compassionate care. It is comforting for them to know this service is available whether they access it or not. I don’t know of any other trade show in the industry that provides this level of service to their customers.” Medical care providers will be prepared to treat headache, cough, ear ache, vomiting/diarrhea, rashes, sinusitis, stomach ache, conjunctivitis, bladder infection, allergy symptoms and other minor conditions.
