Designing a true home theatre for the high-tech aficionados in the Bay Area can be an intimidating project. The event will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Thursday, August 17 at the San Francisco Mart. Putting together an effective home theater or media room is a complex and multi-faceted process. In this seminar, you will learn the secrets of the pros in high quality home theater design. Acoustics, optics, HVAC, lighting, electrical, colors, seating layouts, equipment selection, and ergonomics all contribute in making the difference between just a loud room with a big screen and a world class entertainment environment. This course will familiarize you with the key steps in designing a space that your customers will love. Anthony Grimani has 25 years of experience in the audio industry, including positions at Dolby and Lucasfilm THX. While at Dolby, Anthony was intricately involved in the development of surround sound for consumer applications. At THX, he managed the THX consumer licensing program and the technology development program. His accolades include the “50 Most Vital Influencers” award from Custom Retailer magazine. At Performance Media Industries, Grimani specializes in multi-channel audio/video system design for high-end home theater, production, broadcast and recording studio applications, and provides complete design, installation and calibration services. He also heads up Media Specialty Resources Inc., distributors of specialty audio/video tools. He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Davis. The seminar will be held in the SF Mart’s seminar room on the second floor. Admission is $25 for Mart members and students and $35 for non-members. Reservations and pre-payment are required.
