John Harrison and Sheri Makransky have joined World Market Center as Leasing Managers and Kathy Kroger has joined the Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center as a Leasing Manager. John Harrison will focus on the areas of lighting, floor covering and furniture. Harrison’s experience includes marketing and sales positions with Gift and Decorative Accessories magazine. Sheri Makransky comes to World Market Center with an extensive background in real estate leasing and the home furnishings industry. She will work primarily in the home décor, floral and seasonal product categories. “These professionals are tremendous assets to the permanent leasing department as we add new buildings to the project and introduce new categories of home furnishings into our mix of products,” said Babs Blair, Director of Leasing. “The hiring of these managers further shows our commitment to creating a comprehensive market for the many retail segments and our desire to reach out to more companies in a shorter period of time.” Kathy Kroger, who is joining the Las Vegas Design Center as Leasing Manager, has a background in interior merchandising, contract and residential furnishings, textiles, wall coverings and floor coverings. Prior to joining Las Vegas Design Center, Kathy Kroger represented a number of high-end home furnishings companies. She worked for many years in the showrooms at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart and also managed a Design Center South showroom in Laguna Niguel, California. Victor Pedraz, Director of the Las Vegas Design Center, said, “Kathy Kroger’s broad range of experience in the interior design industry will help Las Vegas Design Center continue to attract more sophisticated, high-end clientele.” World Market Center is an integrated home and hospitality contract furnishings showroom and convention complex in Las Vegas. When fully built, at 12 million square feet in 8 buildings, World Market Center will be the largest trade show complex in the World. The 12 million square foot campus will be complete by 2013 and will showcase furniture, decorative accessories, lighting, area rugs, home textile and related segments, as well as the Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) open year-round to the trade. The second building will open in January 2007; officials are now leasing the third building to a broad cross-section of the home furnishings industry.
