In addition to more than 300 new permanent showrooms opening up in Building B at the next Las Vegas Market, taking place January 29 through February 2, World Market Center is proud to announce that nine home furnishings and design trade associations will also open their first Las Vegas office at the Las Vegas furniture trade complex. The association’s offices, hosted and outfitted by World Market Center, will allow nine key industry organizations to better serve their membership at the semi-annual Las Vegas Markets and on a year-round basis. “An integral part of World Market Center’s mission is to deliver a highly-efficient, global marketplace for the home furnishings community that drives new opportunities and growth for the entire industry,” said Dana Pretner Andrew, Director of Marketing & Public Relations for World Market Center. “As an indication of our support for the many membership organizations who provide ongoing networking, education and development for industry professionals, we have dedicated state-of-the-art and spacious office space on the 16th floor of the new Building B. Providing a platform in Las Vegas to these important groups helps solidify World Market Center as the destination for the home furnishings industry.” The home furnishings trade associations who will occupy office space at World Market Center include: American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA), American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Home Furnishings International Association (HFIA), International Home Furnishings Representatives Association (IHFRA), International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA), International Interior Design Association (IIDA), Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH) and Women in the Home Furnishings Industry (WITHIT). In addition, the Western Home Furnishings Association (WHFA) in conjunction with National Home Furnishings Association (NHFA) will be relocating from Building A to a beautiful new showroom in Building B, nearby the other association offices, and will offer the Retail Resource Center and educational seminars throughout the day. Andrew says that each association will benefit greatly from an office at World Market Center, increasing their visibility in Las Vegas and allowing the organizations to better serve the home furnishings industry and attract new members. “We are outfitting this office space with all of the necessary amenities and business services in an effort to give each association an easy “turn-key” office solution in Las Vegas.” Andrew added. Mary Frye, President of HFIA said, “We appreciate World Market Center’s commitment to HFIA. With members in 50 states, the Las Vegas Market provides us with an opportunity to see them and see what they are seeing. We believe this market can also be a cornerstone to our association’s membership growth strategy.” "This is a wonderful example of how World Market Center is committed to supporting the interior design community and ASID. We are grateful for the opportunity to establish an office in Las Vegas at the new World Market Center, which further allows us to support the design community and our overall mission of integrity and professionalism in the practice of interior design" said Paula Rubidoux, President of the Central California/Nevada Chapter of ASID. Jaclyn C. Hirschhaut, Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing for AHFA comments, “We are very grateful for this opportunity that World Market Center is offering AHFA. It is truly a wonderful opportunity for us to have closer contact with our members at this important new market.” The American Home Furnishings Alliance is the industry's leading residential furniture trade association, representing about 250 manufacturers and marketers plus more than 200 suppliers to the industry. World Market Center is an integrated home and hospitality contract furnishings showroom and convention complex in Las Vegas. When fully built, at 12 million square feet in 8 buildings, World Market Center will be the largest trade show complex in the world. The 12 million-square-foot campus will be completed by 2013 and will showcase furniture, decorative accessories, lighting, area rugs, home textile and related segments, as well as the Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) open year-round to the trade. The second building will open in January 2007; officials are now leasing the third building to a broad cross-section of the home furnishings industry.
