Norwalk Names New Director Of Customer Service

Eric Light has been named the new director of customer and distribution services at Norwalk Furniture Corp., Norwalk, Ohio. With the appointment, Light also joins the ranks of the company’s executive team.
As Director of Customer and Distribution Services, Light will assume responsibility for the customer service, quality and transportation departments at Norwalk. A primary responsibility, according to President Rick McKirahan, is to grow the company’s distribution and transportation network capabilities.
“Eric brings an extensive background to the position,” says McKirahan, “which will enable us to synchronize, and enhance the full portfolio of products and services that we offer to our customers.” Light’s background is extremely diverse covering operations, logistics, direct sales, sales management, marketing, customer service, strategic planning and training.
From 1990 to 2001, he held various positions at UPS, including operations manager, account executive, senior pricing and marketing manager, and customer service and sales manager. Following his tenure at UPS, Light accepted a position with W.W. Grainger Corporation where he remained until joining Norwalk. At W.W. Grainger Corporation, he served in several capacities including strategic account manager, national sales training manager and before accepting the position at Norwalk, district sales manager.
“Eric is well prepared to make a significant contribution at Norwalk,” says McKirahan, pointing to Light’s previous employers – two of the world’s largest global professional service organizations – and the numerous positions held. “He not only offers a broad background, but years of direct-to-customer service experience in other industries, which will only further complement our leadership team.”
Light attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, holding a B.S.B.A. in marketing and management.
He resides in Huron, Ohio.
