ASFD Spring Market Dinner To Feature Michael Payne

The American Society of Furniture Designers welcomes Michael Payne as keynote speaker at its Spring Market Dinner on March 27 at the High Point Country Club. Michael has a furniture design/manufacturing partnership with the Powell Company, and also works with companies such as Benjamin Moore, Merrill Lynch and Wickes Furniture in promoting their products. Host and interior designer of HGTV’s Designing For The Sexes, Michael obtained a bachelors degree in physics and mathematics from Southampton University in England. He later decided to pursue a career in interior design and graduated from the UCLA interior design program in 1980. His business, Michael Payne, Inc., offers interior design services to clients on a national and international basis. In addition to Designing For The Sexes, Michael has been featured on numerous network television programs and on radio stations throughout the country. He has been the featured speaker at various national home shows, design events, museums, conferences, corporate events, and charity functions. He also teaches a design seminar at UCLA. His first book, "Let's Ask Michael" was published in 2003. Michael and his wife live in Los Angeles. An avid runner, Michael has completed six marathons and numerous 10K races. His interests include gardening, automobiles, and antique toys. The Tuesday evening ASFD Market event begins with a 6:00 cocktail reception at High Point Country Club and is open to all Market-goers, including non-ASFD members.
