ViewIT Technologies Launches 3D Visualization Tool at High Point Market

Furniture World News on

ViewIT Technologies, Inc., formerly Masterplan Magnetics, is launching 3Dream.net, an innovative 3D visualization tool developed for retail store and independent interior designers, at High Point Market this month. The application ‘goes live’ at market on Monday, March 26, at 11:00 a.m., in the Designer Resource Center, located on the ground floor of the IHFC. The only tool of its kind for residential interior designers, 3Dream.net, which was beta tested throughout 2006 under the name DesignLinxOnline, is a subscription-based service. This virtual-reality design application enables designers to generate and instantly modify home furnishings design plans onscreen, in accordance with the client or customer’s floor plans. The crux of the 3Dream system is its use of real-world, 3D models of products ranging from furniture and accessories to window treatments and floor coverings, a bonus for marketers of branded furniture products. “This is an easy-to-use, drag-and-drop application that allows you to design and tweak with a click of the mouse,” says Ross Barlett, co-founder and CEO of ViewIt Technologies. “The fact that your clients can ‘walk through’ their new rooms is so powerful. It means you get faster buy-in and an immediate emotional response. Consumers buy more when you’ve reduced the risk of making a ‘design mistake.’” Jim Gabbert, chairman of Gabberts, the home furnishings retailer based in Edina, Minn., is slated to press the “On” button at Monday’s “Go Live” event. “The truth is, most people have difficulty visualizing what a piece of furniture or a design will look like in reality,” Gabbert says. “3Dream gives customers a way to see what their design plans will actually look like in their homes. Then, customers are more likely to purchase an entire room setting instead of just a couple of pieces. I think the ease with which you can experiment, changing fabrics and colors, helps people realize their goal to create homes that are a personal expression of their own style.” ViewIt Technologies’ co-founders Ross and Donna Barlett will be conducting 3Dream test drives in the Designer Resource Center, from 10 a.m. until noon, Monday through Friday of market. Suppliers, designers, retailers and media are all invited to take a 3Dream tour. Demonstrations may also be scheduled by contacting Ross or Donna Barlett at 1-800-449-9984. Additionally, 3Dream.net displays and information will be available at the IDS booth at the Suites at Market Square, and at the Bienenstock Library kiosks, located throughout the market.
