La-Z-Boy Completes Sale of Sam Moore to Hooker Furniture

La-Z-Boy Incorporated announced it completed the sale of Sam Moore Furniture to Hooker Furniture. Terms of the transaction, which closed on April 27, 2007, were not disclosed. Sam Moore, a 63-year-old company owned since 1998 by La-Z-Boy, is based in Bedford, Virginia and produces upscale occasional chairs with an emphasis on fabric-to-frame customization. Kurt L. Darrow, president and chief executive officer of La-Z-Boy, said, "We are delighted to have finalized the sale of Sam Moore to Hooker Furniture and are confident Hooker Furniture's partnership will benefit Sam Moore's employees and customers.
