Bob's Discount Furniture, a fast growing furniture retailer in the northeast, with stores in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island, announced that it is teaming-up with The Pajama Program to create a pajama and book donation drive for needy children around the world from June 16 to June 30, 2007. The public will be encouraged to drop-off pajamas and books at any Bob's Discount Furniture location in New Jersey and New York. "This is the beginning of an important campaign helping so many orphans here in the United States and in other countries. The Pajama Program does a wonderful job of accepting and distributing donated pajamas and books to these needy children. So many children are without warm clothing each night. So, Bob and I would like to invite all of our past, present and future customers to a Bob's Discount Furniture location to drop-off a new pair of pajamas or book anytime during this campaign," explained Cathy Poulin, Bob's Discount Furniture TV personality. The Pajama Program, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, provides new pajamas and books to needy children in the United States and around the world, many who are waiting and hoping to be adopted. These are youngsters who may not know the comforts of a mother or father to tuck them into a cozy bed and read them a bedtime story. The organization's overall mission is to provide a loving environment for children who have lived through a great deal of hurt in their young lives and to give them hope for a better tomorrow. The program identifies key institutions in major cities in the United States and abroad where children are living temporarily as they wait to be adopted.
