Furniture Values International CFO Ray Crocker Passes

Furniture Values International (FVI) mourns the loss of Chief Financial Officer Olin Ray Crocker, who died unexpectedly at age 53 on June 14 after a four-week illness while traveling on business to Taiwan. Ray joined FVI in January 2006, as the company’s CFO and led the finance and information technology divisions. “Ray has been instrumental in the company’s continued growth and development, and will be deeply missed by all of us. His memory will continue to live on at FVI as a part of our company and as a member of our family,” states Bill Colegrove, Furniture Values International general manager and CEO. Ray Crocker’s extensive background spanned over 25 years of progressive furniture experience in executive, financial, and operations management assignments. Prior to FVI, Ray was CEO of Fraenkel Co., Inc., a senior manager at Ladd Furniture and the Valspar Corporation, as well as a financial consultant and business educator at Appalachian State University and two other universities. Ray is survived by his wife, Wendy and their three children; Jaclyn, Rachael and Logan; his two sisters Marilyn and Karen and their husbands, as well as many other loving family members, mostly located in the North Carolina area. Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 29 at Carpenters Funeral Home, 1100 E. Main Street, Cherryville, N.C. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 30, 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Church Street, Cherryville, N.C. with the burial and reception to following at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 1203 St. Mark’s Church Road, Cherryville, N.C.
