The second edition of the Hong Kong International Furniture Fair, which will take place from 27-30 October 2007 at AsiaWorld-Expo, is set to build on its successful debut by opening even more doors onto new business opportunities. The event has quickly established itself as a serious platform for anyone involved in the furniture industry say the organizers, Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Kenfair International Limited. Trade buyers, be they importers, wholesalers, retailers, agents to property developers, hotel chain representatives, restaurant owners, architects, interior designers or others, will be able to meet with a large number of quality suppliers covering a comprehensive range of products and services. Keeping momentum going, organisers have introduced new features this year: there is a new pavilion showcasing Hong Kong talent through the International Furniture & Decoration (HK) Association Pavilion, and a new themed zone focusing on classical furniture. Display categories include designer furniture, contract business furniture, office furniture, outdoor furniture, parts and accessories and trade publications. The International Furniture & Decoration (HK) Association Pavilion promotes the skills and products of furniture manufacturers, designers and traders operating in Hong Kong. More than 20 member companies are participating in the pavilion, including: Dickson Furniture Co Ltd., Fortune Furniture Ltd., Fubao (Sofa) Manufacturing Co Ltd., Hong Kong Profit Force Co Ltd., Hong Kong Royal Furniture Holding Ltd., Jade Rattan Ware Co Ltd., Kai Dick Chemical Ltd., Kai Nun International Ltd., Man Wah Holdings Ltd., Right Horn Development Ltd., Sun Champion Trading Ltd., Tak Hing Fat Furniture Co Ltd. and more. “We are very honoured to be taking part for the first time at the Hong Kong International Furniture Fair organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Kenfair International Limited. A group pavilion is formed to showcase furniture products from more than 20 of our member companies. Hong Kong has always been Asia’s trade fair capital and is an important gateway for exploring the markets in Southern China or the whole Chinese mainland. With the expertise from the fair organisers and their worldwide network and vast database, we are confident that our exhibiting members will be having good business at the fair,” said Mr. Chan Man, Chairman of the International Furniture & Decoration (HK) Association. The 2006 show featured one premium themed zone – IGLOO, and will be joined by a second themed zone - Classic Furniture this year. Classic Furniture Zone encompasses antique furniture, antique reproduction furniture, classic Chinese, Asian and European furniture, and antique and classic furniture care services. Buyers will find a variety of styles from East and West in this special section, where the emphasis is very much on quality and refinement. With exhibitors grouped together under one umbrella, it is convenient for visitors to source. IGLOO - Designed to Delight gets its name from the Inspirational, Glamorous, Lively, Original and Outstanding furniture that it displays. This premium zone is fun and funky and puts the focus on top-notch design and branding. Increasing affluence in the Asia Pacific region is certainly a driving force behind the success of the Hong Kong International Furniture Fair. It also makes Hong Kong a natural hub for an event such as this. Not only does Hong Kong have a strong design and manufacturing base of its own in furniture, both locally and across the border in the Chinese mainland, but it has a number of other advantages as a regional financial, telecommunications, legal and logistics hub. It is able to act as a conduit between the mainland and the rest of the world. In addition, the organisers of the fair, Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Kenfair International Limited, have an abundance of experience in running professional, effective trade shows. It has strong support from the industry, with Hong Kong Design Centre, Hong Kong Furniture & Decoration Trade Association Limited and International Furniture & Decoration (Hong Kong) Association also involved. The 2006 edition of the fair attracted more than 160 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions. Trade buyers totalled more than 7,300, from 107 countries and regions around the world. The Hong Kong International Furniture Fair runs concurrently with the Hong Kong International Building Materials & Construction Equipment Fair, also staged at AsiaWorld-Expo. Together, these two events provide serious trade visitors with myriad opportunities for exploring new business. For more information, please visit http://hkfurniturefair.com
