The Metropolitan Furnishings Association (MFA) announced that Tom Leflein has been awarded the Howard Liveright Memorial Award. Mr. Leflein recently left Lifestyle California where he was Vice President. Before that he held sales and management positions with Thomasville, Rowe, Pennsylvania House and was Vice President of Benchcraft. The election of the Liveright Award winner is made by past recipients who singled out Mr. Leflein for his initiative and dedication to service in the home furnishings industry, especially within the Greater New York Home Furnishings Association and The MFA. The Memorial award was inaugurated in 1961 for the purpose of perpetuating the memory of Howard Liveright and to provide an opportunity to acknowledge people who have made outstanding contributions to the home furnishings industry. The memorial plaque given to Mr. Leflein reads in part, "Awarded for leadership, guidance, thought and consideration of other people of all colors and creeds... recognizing and assisting in civic and charitable activities."
