Keith Koplan, Koplan’s Home Furnishings Appointed WHFA President

Western Home Furnishings Association’s (WHFA) Board of Directors has appointed Keith Koplan, Koplan’s Home Furnishings, Vancouver, Wash., as WHFA’s 2008 President during last month’s Las Vegas Market. As WHFA President, Koplan will oversee the implementation and administration of all policies and programs mandated by the WHFA Board of Directors. A few of Koplan’s goals for the year are: Keep focused on the long-term value of WHFA and not get mired down in the current economic conditions, be creative in creating “value” for our membership, and to have fun and not take ourselves too seriously. Koplan was elected to the position of president due to his years of industry experience and expertise. A familiar name within the Vancouver community, Koplan’s Home Furnishings has been furnishing customers homes since 1948. Koplan joined the business in 1963 after graduating from the University of Washington and became owner in 1978. Taking a great pride in giving back to their community, Koplan and the rest of his team have dedicated themselves to helping others and support the local school board, community college and Rotary. Western Home Furnishings Association is the western affiliate of National Home Furnishings Association and serves 1,200 independent home furnishings retailers in 12 western states. They offer programs and services, education and industry resources to help retailers simplify their business life. The WHFA Board of Directors is composed of volunteer home furnishings retailers. These industry leaders serve the entire WHFA membership and the industry as a whole with generous contributions of time and experience.
