 cmi (Colonial Mills, Inc.), a leading manufacturer of braided-texture area rugs and a winner of a AmericasMart® America’s Magnificent Carpets Award this past January for its Thimbleberries® tisburytm design, announces the appointment of Roy Evans to the position of Vice President of Sales & Marketing. A thirty-year veteran of the floor covering industry, Evans will be responsible for the company’s entire sales and marketing function and will report directly to company president, Donald M. Scarlata. Evans brings vast experience to his new position, having served in top level sales, marketing and management roles at several major rug manufacturers. Prior to his current position, he served as Executive Director of National Sales for Feizy Import & Export Co., Inc. in Dallas, TX and got his start in the industry as Business Manager at Milliken & Co., La Grange, GA. He also previously held positions at Obeetee, Inc., New York, NY; Pande Cameron & Co. of NY, Inc, in New York City; Rainbow Rugs, Stanford Maine; and Natco Products Corp. in West Warwick, RI.
