Sun Capital Sends Letter to Furniture Brands Shareholders

SCSF Equities LLC (together with its affiliates, “Sun Capital”) announced that it sent a letter to all shareholders of Furniture Brands International, Inc. urging all shareholders to vote for the director nominees it proposed at the upcoming 2008 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, scheduled for May 1, 2008. In the letter, Sun Capital questions whether the Company’s current Board of Directors has been acting in the best interest of all shareholders. This latest move is part of the ongoing action by Sun Capital to to acquire the Company. An action, they believe, which has not bee given appropriate consideration by Furniture Brands' current Board of Directors.
