Guardsman, a business unit of Valspar, announced that it recently held its National Sales Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Sales representatives from across North America attended the two-day conference. The main focus of the event was on new retail training strategies and new product introductions. In a tough business environment, the Guardsman protection plan programs have become an integral part of a furniture retailer’s financial success. Yet many retailers do not take advantage or do not know how these programs can increase the bottom line. The Guardsman sales representatives were presented a variety of new tools to help them work with their retail partners to ensure they are maximizing the opportunities protection programs offer and how to properly manage the category. The new program covers everything from determining which program is right for a particular retail environment to developing incentive programs and handling poor performers. The Guardsman Furniture Care Product line, which includes a full line of products for leather, wood and fabric, was completely re-designed along with several new product introductions. These products, which are recommended by leading furniture manufacturers, can be found in fine furniture stores across North America.
