Carpenter Launches Strategic Marketing Solutions

Ron Carpenter has announced the formation of Strategic Marketing Solutions (SMS), a consulting firm serving manufacturers, retailers, and suppliers. SMS will provide a variety of services to its clients, including strategic planning, marketing consultation, marketing research, and merchandising consultation. Carpenter commented, “The market environment today is more dynamic and complex than ever before. Among the challenges the industry faces are increasingly demanding consumers with changing demographics and shopping preferences, consolidation at both the retail and manufacturing levels, and the changes which e-business is imposing on our business practices. To survive and thrive in this uncertain environment, we must first gain an understanding of the target consumer, the market environment, and the advanced business processes and technologies available to us. We then have the opportunity to formulate a plan that can turn this understanding into competitive advantage. Today’s market environment is unforgiving. SMS will assist its clients in capturing the information and developing the strategies that will make them successful.” Prior to launching SMS, Ron Carpenter was Vice President – Marketing & Business Development at Magnussen Home Furnishings, a $115 million furniture importer and marketing with offices in New Hamburg, ON and High Point, NC. Carpenter will continue his association with Magnussen Home on a consulting basis. Mr. Carpenter also previously served as Director of Furniture Industry Services for BDO Seidman, LLP, a national accounting and consulting firm. Before joining BDO Seidman, Mr. Carpenter held positions as Vice President of Marketing at Lea Industries and was a Principal with Motivational Marketing & Communications, a strategic marketing and design consulting practice.
