According to Tropitone’s vice president of design, Peter Homestead, the popularity of the outdoor room has created a growing interest among many consumers in expanding their outdoor living spaces. These living spaces with more room for alfresco relaxing and entertaining, as well as the desire for comfort, require outdoor furniture of a generous size. “The design and scale of the Mondovi Collection make it an ideal collection for the spacious outdoor rooms of homes with transitional style architecture,” he said. The collection’s name is a reference to Mondovi, Italy, a town which was founded in 1198 and is located in the winegrowing region of Piedmont in northern Italy. Homestead said that among the several features of the Mondovi Collection likely to appeal to consumers is the custom-designed base used on the swivel action loungers as it complements the Mondovi frame. A variety of table bases that complement the Mondovi Collection’s frame also are available. “Since the broad, sweeping lines of the Mondovi frame are a distinctive feature of the collection, we wanted to offer bases for the swivel action seating and tables that would work well with the overall design of the collection’s frame. “In addition, we designed the frame of the Mondovi Collection’s deep seating with aluminum slats in the seat area which support the cushions. As a result, the overall frame -- including the seat -- has a completely integrated design with a more refined and fully finished look. The Mondovi deep seating also features Tropitone’s proprietary RelaxPlus™ cushions, which are designed for outdoor durability but with indoor style and comfort,” he said. The Mondovi Collection is available as sling, woven or cushion seating, all of which can be coordinated with Tropitone’s extensive tabletop options and Tropitone’s Basta Sole™ shade products. The sling collection includes a dining chair with a low or high back, a swivel rocker with a low or high back, a swivel action lounger and ottoman, a swivel barstool, and chaise lounge. All are available in over 150 different fabrics and more than 16 different frame finishes. The woven version includes a dining chair, swivel rocker, swivel action lounger and ottoman, swivel barstool, and chaise lounge. The woven seating is available in Saddle (a deep brown) or Bark (a medium tan) colorations. The cushion seating includes a dining chair, swivel rocker, lounge chair, swivel action lounger and ottoman, love seat and sofa.
