Mattress Discounters Files Chapter 11

The Washington Business Journal reported that, "Mattress Discounters Corp. has filed federal bankruptcy protection for the second time in six years, according to a Bloomberg report." The news item said that the company which operates 140 sleep centers across the Northeast (with 40 in the Washington DC area) owes $9.3 million to the 30 largest unsecured creditors; the largest of which is Simmons Company, owed $4.2 million.
