Capel Incorporated, America's oldest and largest privately-owned rug manufacturer and importer, announced that it will kick off the fall selling season with a selection of hand knotted, one-of-a-kind Chobi rugs from Pakistan and a premier group of one-of-a-kind, hand knotted pieces from India. These carefully selected rugs will be on display in Capel's High Point showroom during the upcoming High Point Market, October 20-26, in the main Market Square building, space 112. Knotted in a luxuriously thick pile, the silky Afghani and Pakistani Chobis are known for their meticulous hand-spun wool construction. Capel's one-of-a-kind Chobis are offered in a variety of designs including Sultanabad, Oushak, Tabriz and Mahal. Original patterns feature stunning color fusions of mineralized tones, wedgewood blues, spice hues, soft hennas and brick reds. "These rugs create interest among buyers who are looking for something specially crafted and unique," says Norm Sweeters, Capel Rug's managing director of imports. "Each rug is stunning in a different way, offering individualized designs and color palettes drawn from each artisan's inspirations." The Pak Chobis, specifically selected by Sweeters for this High Point Market, are manufactured by artisans in Pakistan who are considered to be the best in the business and are known for providing consistent and superb quality. Capel also will showcase a smaller selection of hand-picked rugs, including Bijar and Tabriz designs, from similarly renowned craftspeople in India's Mirzapur-Bhadohi region. Capel's newest shipment of one-of-a-kind floor coverings will be available to showrooms and retail outlets across the country at 25% below wholesale prices.
