Whitecraft announced that it has partnered with "For Your Home", "Charlotte Magazine", and other corporate sponsors and donors to furnish a 4,600 square-foot English cottage style home that features some of the freshest new products and hot innovations for luxury living. Changing individual’s and family’s circumstances with beautiful new homes and interiors is the premise of a number of successful television shows. And, with the opening of the new 2008 Susan G. Komen Dream Home on the outskirts of Charlotte, North Carolina, literally countless lives of those affected by breast cancer will be touched and thousands of dollars are being raised for research and treatment thanks to supporters such as Charleston, SC-based Whitecraft. Vicki Payne, the home’s lead designer and host of PBS’ hugely popular home and garden series, For Your Home, selected Whitecraft as the exclusive outdoor furnishings provider for the home which features two dramatic outdoor spaces—a covered patio and a screened porch--overlooking the serene landscape on the banks of Lake Wylie. Whitecraft’s transitional collection, San Miguel, graces both spaces, providing a comfortable year-round outdoor retreat. Constructed from Whitecraft’s trademark Weather-Mate™ handcrafted rattan wicker, the collection’s appeal is further enhanced by its durability and ease of care, both important considerations for today’s busy homeowners. With more than 100 outdoor fabric selections available from Whitecraft, Payne selected Sunbrella’s™ complementary hues of glacier and cocoa, echoing the sophisticated palette used throughout the home’s main level. Bill Herren, Whitecraft marketing director, expressed the company’s gratitude, “We are very pleased and honored to be a part of this meaningful program supporting such a worthy cause. We hope our involvement will help generate much-needed funds, one day resulting in a cure for millions.” Public tours of the home began November 20th and will continue through December 15th. Proceeds from admission tickets and from the auction of all the home’s furnishings will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the largest grassroots initiative for finding a cure for breast cancer. The home’s interior and gardens will be featured in multiple episodes, airing Spring 2009, of For Your Home, one of PBS’ top-rated series, reaching nearly 99 million households each week. Charlotte Magazine is the home’s publication sponsor and as such, is including coverage of the home in its current issue as well as upcoming issues in early 2009. The home was built by E. S. Johnson Builders. About Whitecraft: For nearly 100 years, Whitecraft has forged a solid reputation for quality, handcrafted indoor and outdoor woven casual furniture.
