The International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) and ISPA’s Government Relations Committee announced the launch of its latest member benefit—ISPA Advocacy Connection. This e-newsletter will keep members informed of the latest legislative and regulatory developments that affect the mattress industry. ISPA Advocacy Connection will provide a succinct review of pending legislative and regulatory proposals, information on newly enacted laws or regulations that affect manufacturers and suppliers, and political insight on what to expect next. ISPA plans to distribute this e-newsletter at least monthly, with special editions issued as needed. “With a new President and Congress, it is more important than ever for ISPA to have effective representation before, and communicate with, Congress and the Obama Administration on issues that affect the mattress industry,” noted ISPA Vice President of Government Relations and Policy and Editor of the e-newsletter, Chris Hudgins. “The ISPA Advocacy Connection will keep members abreast of important policy issues that can impact their businesses, and will educate them on how to become an advocate for the industry.” From time to time, ISPA members may receive a “Call to Action”, requesting their grassroots support to influence lawmakers to take positions which support the industry. These alerts will link members to the ISPA Legislative Action Center where they will find draft letters focused on specific issues that they can easily send to Congress and policymakers. Established in 1915, the International Sleep Products Association, is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the growth, profitability and stature of the mattress manufacturing industry. ISPA represents over 700 mattress manufacturers and their suppliers throughout the world.
