The IHFC’s Design Center announced that two new accessory exhibitors. Bougainvillea, manufacturer of natural floral designs, and Big Fish, a wall décor company, will relocate their High Point showrooms to the IHFC. Bougainvillea arrives from Suites at Market Square, Big Fish from Hamilton/Wrenn district. “We have significantly added to the Big Fish product line,” explained CEO Melissa Van Hise. “In addition to Big Fish, we will represent lines from Casey Collection, Evans Design and Encore Art and Frame. And with our theme of ‘Big Fish is easy; easy to buy and easy to sell’ it was important for us to have a more central location that’s convenient to buyers. “We are terribly excited about the move,” she added. “Our showroom is at Boardwalk and Park Place (D-224) - the ideal place for us. And the IHFC has made the transition such a pleasant experience.” Occupying showroom D-335 in the Design Center, Bougainvillea will show their high-end natural floral designs and fragrant candles. Owner Jeff Chauvin said it was simply time, after showing in High Point in the same location since the company’s launch in 2001, for his Atlanta-based company to move to the IHFC. He said: “The whole industry is going through change and it was our time to make the transition. “In this economy, orders matter and the increased traffic we anticipate at the IHFC should support that. We believe our current customers will follow us there, and that we should pick up new ones because of the move. As a domestic manufacturer that can react quickly to customer requests, which is quite unique in our category, we need to tell our story to as many customers as possible.” And the IHFC provides that opportunity. Opening in 1921, IHFC was the original showroom building in High Point and after 87 years of expansion remains the centerpiece of the world’s largest home-furnishings trade show that attracts more than 90,000 participants twice a year to 2,000 showrooms covering 11.5 million square feet. IHFC alone is home to 650 of the leading home-furnishings manufacturers, including 13 of the top 20 companies, and covers 3.5 million square feet.
