imm cologne Announces New Areas of Focus for 2020

Furniture World News Desk on 4/17/2019

Koelnmesse has announced a simplified structure that will offer exhibitors and visitors to imm cologne 2020 even better orientation. The Pure and Home categories will be imm cologne 2020’s two main areas of focus, with Pure Architects, imm cologne 2020 will be a walk-in design catalogue for the creative sector.

Hosted at the start of the year, imm cologne is an important date in the interior design calendar. It’s where the entire interiors industry gathers to present and discover new launches from around the world. In Cologne, the exhibiting companies showcase their brands, present their innovations or collections and create interiors moments that give the international design scene fresh inspiration. To make it easier for visitors to find their way around and help the exhibitors position themselves in the best way possible, the trade fair team has divided imm cologne into themed areas, which are organized to suit the character of the particular product line. Following the successful introduction to the Pure segment of new themed areas such as Pure Editions and Pure Atmospheres, imm cologne 2020 will see the restructuring of the northern area, which will be known as “Home”. With these changes, Koelnmesse ensures that exhibitors will be able to generate high-quality contacts among their target groups and inform visitors efficiently. “Today, success is the result of innovative ideas. With the new concept, we’re boosting the trade fair’s function to offer orientation and transparency,” says Matthias Pollmann, Koelnmesse’s Vice President Trade Fair Management. “Thanks to our array of exhibitors, we are able to cover the full range on offer in the interior design sector and give an overview of the market that is uniquely diverse in terms of product spectrum and furnishing styles. The international Interior Business Event imm cologne is the platform for interior design and the interiors business,” continues Pollmann.

The new “Home” for furnishing solutions with lifestyle character
The new Home hub at imm cologne will be divided into three main areas of focus: Home Sleep, Home Scenes and Home Settings.
Home Sleep in Hall 9 will represent products and concepts designed to support good sleep. The mattress and sleeping systems, box-spring beds and waterbeds in this themed area offer innovative sleeping comfort, enhanced by decorative bedding and accessories. Since well-being is also clearly influenced by tactile, climate-regulating and aesthetic qualities in the way the individual elements of a sleep system interact, textile products for the bedroom are also an integral part of Home Sleep. In combination with accessories, these elements make the product area, with its strong focus on ergonomics and technical considerations, into a genuine lifestyle segment driven by the concept of wellness.

The Home Scenes category will present over 1,000 ideas for lifestyle-oriented living. Large trade fair stands will be the stage for suites, armchairs, divans, stand-alone sofas, convertible sofas, bedroom and living room furniture and shelving systems – the whole range of well-known furniture and interior design suppliers will be represented. In Halls 5.2, 6, 10.1 and 10.2, visitors to imm cologne will find contemporary interiors and quality furniture guaranteed to suit every lifestyle.

Home Settings will play host to furnishing solutions for modern, stylish living. Spread across Halls 4.1, 5.1, 5.2, 7 and 8, Home Settings aims to offer the generous amount of space needed to exhibit the complete range of product solutions in modern material quantities that provide ample storage and versatile usage options for young lifestyles and those fitting out a home for the first time. In addition to stand-alone items of furniture and furnishing systems for the whole living area and bedroom, this is also where you will find specialist lines, household accessories and a wide selection of self-assembly furniture. The range is correspondingly colorful and stylistically diverse. The name of the segment reflects this and also refers to companies’ use of the e-commerce sales channel in this segment. Home Settings has been conceived in such a way that the furniture retail trade will be able to get a comprehensive market overview of the consumer sector all in one place.

The Digital Future of Interiors
With “Touch by imm cologne”, imm cologne is guiding the whole world of interior design into a new, digital era. The long term goal of the trade fair is to create its own area of focus for the digital economy and offer online traders, platforms and portals, as well as suppliers a dedicated forum. Not only is it important for all participating exhibitors to get to grips with digital trends, platforms, portals and the key future issue of e commerce, imm cologne is also drawing its visitors’ attention to new market opportunities and future markets (northern boulevard).

Pure, the format for design quality
Pure showcases the avant-garde of international design in various themed areas. In Pure Atmospheres, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in a highly atmospheric world of lifestyle installations, because this is where the major brands will reveal their collections. In the gallery-like Pure Editions halls, on the other hand, the design houses will use their product highlights to capture their brand’s identity and the most important interiors trends. And in between there will be plenty of opportunities to discover more: fascinating installations, young design and informative events.

Pure Architects: a walk-in design catalogue for the creative sector
With this themed area, imm cologne is offering exhibitors of innovative room concepts the opportunity to present their new products and innovations in the environment of the lifestyle-oriented Pure segment every two years. Exhibitors from the bathroom segment in particular are offered the unique opportunity to present their creative ideas for modern bathrooms in this themed area in the context of an international interiors show. With “smart living”, imm cologne is taking up another important future issue. The focus here is on technical lighting, connectivity, digitalisation and smart homes, and how these new technologies are having an impact on the design of living spaces – and how interior design is responding. Pure Architects will thereby provide planners, architects, decorators and interior designers with ample space in which to find information and inspiration.

As a 360-degree trade fair, imm cologne uses its themed areas to cover all aspects of the interior design sector and gives a unique overview of the market. It is also able to devote itself to the crucial questions around how we will live in the future – questions that are becoming increasingly significant in the context of home furnishings. All of this makes the international Interior Business Event imm cologne the platform for interior design and the interiors business.
