IFFS Takes Break to Rethink, Recharge, Revitalize and Break New Ground

The International Furniture Fair Singapore along with NOOK Asia ("IFFS"), will be taking a well-deserved break in 2020.

After 36 years, Asia’s premier sourcing platform and design-led exhibition which has put Singapore on the world map of the global furniture and furnishings industry, will be taking time to rethink, review, revitalise and break new ground as well as to create new business opportunities, jobs, and grow the Singapore furniture and furnishings industry in the coming years.

Taking a break is a strategic step in line with the overall transformation in the furniture and furnishings industry which is taking place globally.

Said Mr Ernie Koh, Chairman of International Furniture Fair Singapore Pte Ltd, "The global furniture and furnishings industry is changing rapidly as new technologies and new lifestyles have ushered in new challenges and spawned new opportunities.

For IFFS to remain the most distinctive channel for regional and international companies - to penetrate the global market with alternative solutions and meet the ever-changing needs of tomorrow’s urban living, we need to transform - and do it soon!

As such, we will take time off in 2020 to re-strategize, review the developments closely, rethink formulas and recharge to drive the next phase of growth. We also must revitalize our resources and concepts by introducing new, exciting and relevant themes, to elevate IFFS to the next level."

As its key objective is to serve creative enterprises, IFFS will need to embrace transformation to help it survive economic gyrations and attract talented people to come on board. It will also need to capitalise on the tech revolution that is disrupting traditional business formulas and breaking established design mindsets.

Added Mr Koh, "We look forward to come back refreshed with more immersive experiences, brand new ideas, a mission to get people to rethink furniture and furnishings as well as to make the industry even greater in the years to come."
