Agio, USA has announced the promotion of Doug Peppler to Executive Vice President.

Peppler is a partner and 17-year employee of the company and has served in executive management positions for Agio, USA, including vice president and senior vice president.  Most recently, Peppler has managed and overseen Agio’s key account business out of the Issaquah, Washington office.

During his 35 years in the casual furniture business, Doug has been involved with some of the best-known names in the industry, such as Mallin, Weber, Casual Living Worldwide and Brown Jordan International.  He has also been active in ICFA for many years, including serving on the association’s board of directors.

“Doug’s industry knowledge on multiple fronts and his lengthy tenure with Agio makes him the perfect candidate for this position,” said Bob Gaylord, president of Agio USA.  “He has a tremendous amount of experience in each of the markets that we serve.  I could not think of a better candidate than Doug.”  Peppler succeeds John Oppenheimer, who was executive vice president and partner Agio, USA for over 20 years before his retirement in December 2018.

“Over the years, Agio, USA has brought together some of the best product managers, designers, R&D, and merchandisers in the industry,” Peppler stated.  “Working with such a great group of people has made my career here extremely fulfilling and rewarding.”

“I look forward to finishing my career with Agio,” he said.

An avid fisherman, outdoorsman and cook, Peppler and his wife Shirley enjoy spending as much time as possible with their family including four grown children.

Barb Hunter to Retire

Barb Hunter, Agio, USA Vice President Sales, National Accounts, is retiring on August 1 after 16 years with the company.  Hunter is a 42-year veteran of the casual furniture industry.

A lifelong resident of Portland, Tennessee, Barb began her career with Lawnlite, which morphed into Sunbeam Outdoor Products, where she eventually served there for 21 years.  She later spent five years with Wellington Home Products before joining Agio USA in 2003.

For most of the last 10 years, Hunter’s energy has been focused on leading one of Agio’s key account teams.  “We had a great team to work with and enjoyed several years of continued growth,” she said. “I am very proud to have been part of the Agio sales team and to have shared in this success.”

“I had known Barb for over 20 years and respected her reputation in the industry even before she joined Agio,” recalled Bob Gaylord, President of Agio, USA.  “We were lucky to have a seasoned veteran like Barb, not just in casual furniture but also experienced in umbrellas, fabrics and fire products.  Barb’s efforts have been virtually unparalleled in our company; she was responsible for many areas of growth for our company while servicing and overseeing our largest accounts.”

“In an industry often dominated on the manufacturing side by men, Barb brought an important viewpoint tempered by her valuable sales experience that benefitted both our company and our customers,” Gaylord said.  “We were blessed to have her join Agio, USA and we wish to thank her for the years of valuable service to our company and the industry.  She will be missed.”

Barb and her husband of 49 years, Jack, are looking forward to spending time with their grandchildren and enjoying their Agio furniture on their backyard deck.  She also plans to increase her involvement with a few favorite charities as well as her church, and take a few courses at the local community college.
