American Leather Launches Online Ordering Site for Face Masks

American Leather, a premium furniture manufacturer based in Dallas, announced that it is expanding its assistance in the fight against COVID-19 by making face masks available to the general public. Available through the website, www.thefacemaskmakers.com, individuals can order masks in packs of 5, 10 or 20. A portion of proceeds from all sales will benefit the North Texas Food Bank.

The company announced last month that it would shift manufacturing capabilities to produce personal protection equipment (PPE) for physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists working on the frontlines fighting the novel coronavirus. With these capabilities now in place, the manufacturer wanted to extend its face mask production capacity to include companies or individuals who are looking to protect their employees and families.

“Our first priority was to the healthcare workers locally and nationwide who needed these masks in a critical capacity,” said Bruce Birnbach, CEO of American Leather. “Now that we have been able to meet the initial demand from the healthcare community, we wanted to make sure these non-surgical masks could be available to the general public.”

All masks are being made in American Leather’s Dallas facility. The consumer masks are a non-surgical, ear-loop style recommended by the CDC for the general public to wear outside of their homes. They are made of high-quality, durable material and are machine washable and reusable.

“There are areas that still require or are recommending that individuals wear face masks when they go out in public,” added Birnbach. “Plus, as some states start relaxing the stay-at-home orders, we know many businesses will still want to ensure the safety of their employees as they go back to their places of work. We just want to continue to do our part in helping keep people healthy and safe.”
