Gus* Modern Launches Fall 2020 Furniture Designs

www.gusmodern.com), the Canadian home furnishings brand, announced they have digitally premiered their latest collection at the company’s new corporate showroom in Toronto.
Introductions include the Scandinavian-inspired Silverlake Series, a soft and inviting upholstery collection comprised of seven unique configurations that all feature plush cushions with eco-friendly PET fill. A series of add-ons to the brand’s popular Branch Modular Organization System create even more possibilities for home, office and retail environments, and complement other organization solutions like the Elora Storage Series, which echoes the feel of classic beadboard cabinets with contemporary colours and delicate brass-plated handles. The collection also offers a first look at designs featuring Vegan AppleSkin™ Leather, an innovative leather alternative exclusively developed by Gus* Modern that showcases the look and feel of natural leather in a material developed with fiber remnants from the apple juicing process.

Silverlake Upholstery Collection
The Silverlake Upholstery Collection is a Scandinavian-inspired seating design that strikes an elegant balance between minimalist styling and a casual, inviting feel. The design features a slender tuxedo frame, and plush seat and back cushions filled with our eco-friendly, signature PET fill. The back and side cushions can be adjusted to your preferred angle, while the generous seat depth enhances the sofa’s comfort. Subtle features like pleated fabric details on cushion corners and architectural, black powder-coated steel legs complete Silverlake’s laid-back modern aesthetic. The collection is a restful haven for any busy home, office or lobby. The frames are constructed with kiln-dried 100% FSC®-Certified hardwood in support of responsible forest management.
Elora Storage Series
The Elora Storage Series combines the traditional aesthetic of classic beadboard cabinets with solid craftsmanship and muted, contemporary hues to create a distinctly modern design. Featuring a smooth satin finish, delicate brass-plated handles, and precision-cut doors on an elevated platform, the Elora Storage Series provides ample storage within a minimalist, contemporary form. Part of the Elora Storage Series consists of a Cabinet, Media Stand and End Table.
Vegan AppleSkin™ Leather
Vegan AppleSkin™ Leather is a new, eco-friendly upholstery material that offers an exciting new option for a quality alternative to leather. Formed by upcycling discarded fruit fiber into a durable covering that retains the classic aesthetic of natural leather, the material is a standout addition to our collection’s eco-friendly options. The material will be available on select Gus* Modern seating designs, including the popular Mix Modular Collection and Truss Chair.
Signal Chair
The Signal Chair is a contemporary, multi-purpose chair with sculptural simplicity and comfort, inspired by an ergonomic design approach. Understated, tone-on-tone colour palettes highlight the subtle beauty of Signal’s utilitarian materials - a durable vinyl seat and backrest and slender, powder-coated steel frame - in delicate proportions, perfect for the modern dining room or home office.
Bala Rug
Showcasing a harmony of chunky texture and simple, abstract composition, the Bala Rug brings a sense of Scandinavian-inspired comfort into your space. Made from 100% New Zealand wool, each rug is hand-woven and features oversized knots to create a textural surface that is warm, inviting and cozy underfoot. A single stripe of subdued colour draws your eye across the rug’s nubbly surface. Available in two colourways and two sizes, this rug is perfect for bedrooms, nurseries and living rooms.
Branch Modular Organization System
The Branch Modular Organization System blends mid-century style with modular components to give you an infinite number of elegant, open-storage options for home, office, or retail environments. The designs feature varying configurations that can be transformed into a wide range of organization or display units. Add-ons let you customize the size, layout and function of the system to suit your space. Refined details, such as rounded edges on the shelves and uprights, soften Branch’s aesthetic and enhance its architectural style. Straightforward installation means you can spend more time perfecting your vision and display. New add-ons include the Branch Shelf, Branch Slatted Shelf, Branch Hook Rail, Branch Hangbar, Branch Hooks, Branch Side Mirror and Branch Side Tray.
Tobias Console Table
The Tobias Console Table is a minimalist, geometric accent piece well suited for modern spaces. The rectangular top features a dynamic arrangement of wood grain panels, which rest on a slim, solid steel base. A subtle reveal along the table edge creates the illusion of a floating top. The table features an inset shelf for additional storage space, and a metal side extension that offers space-saving storage solutions for umbrellas and accessories. The table’s slender, compact form is perfect for entryways and other smaller spaces where every square foot counts.
Margot Loft Sofa
The Margot Loft Sofa epitomizes modern elegance with graceful arms, French-seam detailing, and loose, luxurious cushions that give a look which is both timeless and contemporary. A smaller version of the popular Margot Sofa, this design captures all the refined style of the full-scale sofa in a more compact 72” length. Every sofa includes two sets of cylindrical steel legs, allowing you to choose between a brass or black finish to suit your style. The back cushions use a unique, eco-friendly synthetic down, derived from recycled PET plastic. The frame is constructed with kiln-dried 100% FSC©-Certified hardwood. Also available as an 83” sofa and chair.
Lightbox 2
The Lightbox 2 is a lamp, a seat, and an accent table all-in-one. The lamp’s compact form - with rounded corners, no visible seams and a braided-fabric cord - casts a pleasing ambient light for interiors or covered exterior spaces. This luminous sculpture adds a soft and playful glow to everyday spaces.
Gus* will debut all new designs by digital appointment in their new corporate showroom at 6520 Viscount Road in Toronto starting May 18, 2020. The Gus* Modern furniture collection is designed in Canada and sold at over 150 furniture retailers in North America, South America, Asia, and Australia.
