Massood Logistics has launched a new division dedicated to freight consolidation under the banner Massood Transport which will operate out of their new corporate headquarters in Archdale, NC. The new firm will serve suppliers who are using multiple carriers to deliver to distribution centers before delivery to their end consumer.
Massood Transport will maintain a fleet of vehicles dedicated to pick up goods from the suppliers, consolidate them for distribution, and prepare them for final mile delivery. Massood Transport’s experienced staff will work with the customers to coordinate their orders from suppliers and schedule them for pick-up and consolidation. The process is designed to improve efficiency and reduce lead times.
“Today the furniture industry is suffering from under capacity. Orders are taking up to 26 weeks to ship, due to a shortage of raw materials, after which freight carriers are taking 4-6 weeks to reach distribution centers while brick & mortar retailers are depleting inventories faster than they can replenish them” Stated Edward Massood, CEO of Massood Logistics “We believe that we can improve efficiency, help reduce lead times and streamline the supply chain at the most critical points”
