Malouf Foundation™ Highlights OnWatch™ Training for Giving Tuesday

Furniture World News Desk on 11/30/2021

For Giving Tuesday on Nov. 30, the Malouf Foundation™ invites retailers to make an impact by taking the free OnWatch™ training at IAmOnWatch.org. Powered by the Malouf Foundation™, OnWatch™ is a survivor-led, one-hour training designed to empower individuals to recognize and report sex trafficking.

“When people ask how they can support the Malouf Foundation™, we direct them to OnWatch™ first,” said Kacie Malouf, co-founder and board chair of the Malouf Foundation™. “Education is important to understanding the issue of trafficking and the roles we play in reporting and prevention.”

Malouf continued, “I encourage everyone to set aside one hour on Giving Tuesday, or any day in the next month, to take the training. It’s a great first step to confronting this injustice happening in our communities.”

Retailers can also sign up for the free OnWatch™ Advocate Program. Those enrolled in the program make a commitment to combat trafficking by training at least 90 percent of employees or participants through OnWatch™. Once they reach the minimum percentage goal, groups receive a one-year certification badge and marketing materials to share on their platforms.

“Giving Tuesday is a perfect time to engage with OnWatch™,” said Jake Neeley, executive director of the Malouf Foundation™. “We created OnWatch™ Advocates as another opportunity for people to get involved, and this program is a natural fit for industry leaders. It’s really simple to sign up and an impactful way to bring a team together.”

Groups interested in the OnWatch™ Advocate Program can visit IAmOnWatch.org/Groups or email info@iamonwatch.org for additional information.

All suspected trafficking situations should be reported to the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888.
