Hooker Furniture’s Modern Romance Bedroom Collection.

Hooker Furniture recently announced that it will launch Modern Romance at the Fall High Point Market. The 45-piece whole home collection was designed to help consumers create a tranquil place of retreat from their ‘always on’ and ever-busy lifestyles.

“As we are all inundated with a constant flow of technology and information, being offline and undisturbed is becoming a new luxury,” said Steve Lush, president of Hooker case goods. “In creating Modern Romance, we recognized a design trend where consumers are being drawn to soft, feminine silhouettes that create a calm and peaceful escape from our hectic lives.” 

Crafted of hardwood solids and oak veneers, the collection is anchored by a soft, taupe grey wood-tone finish that is complemented by a mix of three accent finishes, including: opaque textured white plaster, textured lacquered-linen and a champagne finish that frames many of the pieces.

Two bed styles are available among the 10 bedroom pieces, including a panel bed and a shelter bed. Featured in the white linen finish, the headboard of the panel bed includes three antique mirror inset panels. The shelter bed is characterized by its shaped, 64-inch high headboard, which features a slight wing curve, giving it a bit of a shelter feel. Additional bedroom pieces include three nightstand designs, a four-drawer bureau, a three-drawer bachelor’s chest with a uniquely textured front, two accent mirrors and a floor mirror with hidden jewelry storage.

Two dining table styles anchor the 10 dining room pieces, including a rectangular double pedestal table with two 22-inch leaves and a round pedestal table, available in a choice of 48- or 60-inch diameters. Dining chair options include a more traditionally-styled exposed wood arm and side chair with upholstered seat and tufted backs or a more feminine-styled fully upholstered arm chair with a curved back and cabriole legs. The coordinating side chair features a similarly shaped back and is dressed in a slipcover. Storage and serving pieces include a four-door buffet with aluminum-wrapped door panels, a display cabinet with a lacquered-linen finish back panel and a four-door server with wine rack and marble top.

Highlights of the 12 occasional, home office and home entertainment pieces include a console table with five open architectural display areas and a similarly shaped end table with one open display area. Each is featured in the champagne-tipped finish that frames the silhouettes. A cocktail table with a unique clover-shaped top rests on three pedestal legs that are connected with a stretcher base. Additional pieces include a four-door entertainment console, a writing desk with a rounded top and side profile, an etagere featuring a single drawer that floats in the middle of four open display shelves, a mercury glass top cocktail table, a round end table, a martini table and a four-door console.
