Jaipur To Introduce Traditions Made Modern Collection At High Point Market

Furniture World News Desk on 9/30/2014

Jaipur and the Museum of New Mexico announced the  launch the new collaborative collection, Traditions Made Modern®, at the upcoming High Point Market, October 18-23.

The Traditions Made Modern® collection features inspirational adaptations of museum textiles from Asia, Europe, Latin America and Africa. Jaipur’s designers used traditional pieces of artistry and craftsmanship held at the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe to create a contem- porary collection of elegant and eclectic rugs, pillows and poufs. Each piece of this collection intertwines history, culture and tradition into a multi-layered story that translates timeless motifs into modern designs – crafting beautiful meaning into beautiful designs.

After visiting the textile collection at the museum, “Our team was so impressed” said Jaipur’s CEO, Asha Chaudhary. “The depth and breadth of the museum’s textile collections inspired [our designers] to a new level of creativity and opened their eyes to the contemporary design oppor- tunities that ethnic material offers. Rooted in history and cultural tradition, and translated with a modern eye, Traditions made Modern® offers consumers the opportunity to make a unique style statement and a chance to bring culture home.”
