Crystorama To Spotlight New Libby Langdon Lighting Collections at High Point

Furniture World News Desk on 10/5/2015

Crystorama announced that it will feature three new additions to the Libby Langdon Lighting for Crystorama line at the October High Point Market, responding to growing demand for the popular licensed lighting program since its launch in stores in late 2014.

First introduced at the Dallas International Lighting Market in the summer of 2014, the Libby Langdon Lighting for Crystorama line has proven to be a hit with consumers, said Brad Kleinberg, president of Crystorama. "Libby's designs are functional, versatile and totally in tune with what today's consumers are looking for in fashionable lighting. They work well in a range of room settings and with a wide variety of décor, adding unique flair and personality as well as the perfect level of illumination."

Building on the enthusiastic response by both retailers and consumers, Crystorama is debuting three creative new Libby Langdon Lighting for Crystorama collections at the High Point Market. The latest additions to the line include:

The Culver Collection, a classic arm-style chandelier that combines the bling of polished nickel with a softly elegant "shade within a shade" treatment, featuring one shade in linen and the other in fabric. In addition to three chandelier options, the collection includes a pendant and a wall fixture.

Textural and sheer, the open-weave linen featured on the outer shade filters the light and softens the inner nickel metalwork, said Langdon. "It almost lights up the entire fabric area and it glows when it's lit. It also shows the stunning shape of the inner metal chandelier as slight shadows and there's a warm reflection on the polished nickel finish." The effect is like getting a sneak peek at something very beautiful - "you can see it but it's just slightly masked," she added. "It's unexpected and so elegant."

The Graham Collection, a dynamic geometric design featuring interlocking circles that seem to float away from the corner frame. In a hand-painted, antique silver finish with a fabric shade, the collection includes four chandelier options, a wall sconce and a semi-flush fixture.

The Graham Collection is a stylish mix of angles and curves, said Langdon. "The interlocking circles connect on the pendant and wall sconce from top to bottom yet seem to visually float on the sides away from the corner frame. The light is subtly reflected on surfaces below in a chic, interlocking circle pattern, and the simple down rods allow the intricate metalwork to really shine. It's just as stunning when you see it from below as it is when you see it head on."

The Westwood Collection, a classic Greek key design in polished nickel with unique geometric details and a drum-shaped shade in white silk. Pieces include two wall mounts, and ceiling, pendant, dining room, foyer and billiard fixtures.

One design element that stands out with the Westwood Collection is the way the top loop mimics the same angle as the lower metal fretwork, said Langdon. "It's a small attention to detail but a big part of the overall look because it artfully repeats the design theme and helps to balance the fixture," she said. Another highlight of the design, Langdon added, is its slightly sloped shade, which "is a fresh take on the drum shape that's been so popular for so long. Combined with the polished nickel finish, it's an updated twist on a traditional style."

Crystorama exhibits during the High Point Market in the Loloi showroom, located in the International Home Furnishings Center, space D-320. Libby Langdon Lighting for Crystorama designs also are available for viewing in the Braxton Culler showroom at 310 S. Elm St. The fall High Point Market runs from Oct. 17 to 22.
