Canadian Furniture Show To Feature David Chilton

Furniture World News Desk on 11/3/2015

Visitors and exhibitors to the 2016 Canadian Furniture Show will be treated to a rare opportunity to attend a live presentation by David Chilton, well-known as a former “Dragon” on CBC TV’s Dragons’ Den and best-selling author of The Wealthy Barber. This highly anticipated appearance will be presented on May 29, at 9 a.m., just before the Show opens on Sunday.

David Chilton is an economics graduate who has always had a knack for recognizing great ventures, a skill he leveraged as a “dragon” on CBC television’s No. 1 hit show, Dragons’ Den. Called “charming, unpretentious, and funny,” by The Chicago Sun-Times, David puts his business expertise and life experience to work in his informative and inspiring talks. He began his career by self-publishing his book The Wealthy Barber in 1989, and was specifically targeted toward those with little investment experience, to help them develop positive personal-finance habits. The book has become one of the most popular Canadian books of all time, selling over two million copies since its release. His second book The Wealthy Barber Returns, also self-published, is another runaway Canadian best-seller. David is also the publisher of best-selling cookbooks, with authors Janet and Greta Podleski.

Pierre Richard, the President and CEO of the Show, stated: “We are honoured and exceedingly pleased to welcome David Chilton to this year’s Show. His presence is in keeping with our continued efforts to enhance the Show to better meet the industry’s needs. This impressive author and speaker, who has a flair for business and investments, will be an outstanding addition to our event. On Sunday morning, Show participants will be invited for breakfast and an inspirational presentation, followed by a book-signing session. Moreover, a few hundred audience members will receive a copy of his latest book. His down-to-earth, cheerful and upbeat outlook on life will definitely appeal to everyone attending the Show.”
