Spectra Home recently announced that designer, author and makeover television personality Libby Landon is set to headline a special Market event for interior designers at Spectra Home, Monday, October 16 at 3 p.m.

Dubbed High Tea and Talk, the event features an educational seminar led by the wildly popular interior and product designer called “Courting the Small Space Client: Design Tips for Growing a Key Demographic.” The event, open to retailers, designers and media, celebrates the pending merger of leather specialist Palatial Furniture with the fashion-forward upholstered furniture house.

“We know many designers come to High Point not only to shop for great product, but also to take advantage of the numerous educational opportunities here,” says Spectra Home President John Hoff, an upholstered furniture industry executive who gained valuable insight into the unique needs of designers while maintaining a to-the-trade showroom at the Merchandise Mart early in his career. “We’re thrilled to honor our customers by sponsoring this special event and to introduce Spectra Home to a new generation of designers by engaging a speaker of Libby Langdon’s caliber.”

Langdon’s presentation will focus on the rapid rise of small space living. “People are learning that living with less doesn’t mean living without luxury,” she says, making Spectra Home the ideal showroom for her seminar, given that the designer-friendly line offers a luxurious look and feel typically associated with specialty retailers and catalog houses without the outrageous price tags.

“Based on my near-daily conversations with consumers across the country,” Langdon relates, “I’m looking forward to talking with designers about the misconceptions surrounding small-space dwellers (hint: they don’t live solely in urban areas), and what shoppers and clients are really looking for now, as well as the best ways to design for their needs.”

Along with the dynamic and design-tip filled seminar led by Langdon, event attendees will enjoy a treat-filled Afternoon Tea in the Spectra Home Showroom, Commerce & Design (C&D), Space 6E. Reservations are not necessary, but seating is limited.
