Huffman Koos Announces Massive Renovation & Rebranding Initiatives

Furniture World News Desk on 1/9/2017

Huffman Koos, a retailer of furniture, bedding and home accents in New York and New Jersey for more than 50 years, recently announced that it will undergo massive renovations at select locations beginning this month, including a complete overhaul of its product offering.

Due to the planned improvements, Huffman Koos is closing all eight of its current stores in New York and New Jersey to commence the re-merchandising of the Huffman Koos brand. Planned renovations include both interiors and exteriors of the company’s showrooms. “Huffman Koos is at an exciting point in time inspired by our rich history,” said company CEO, Anthony Mehran. Sales begin immediately in five of the eight stores, located at Freehold, N.J.; Fairfield, N.J.; Watchung, N.J.; Rockaway NJ; and Middletown, N.Y. Shortly thereafter, the final three stores, located at Paramus, N.J.; Farmingdale, N.Y.; and Elmhurst, NY, will commence store closing events.

Founded in 1961, Huffman Koos was acquired in 2005 by Anthony Mehran, a furniture retailer and real estate developer.

In a statement to customers, Mehran said, “Huffman Koos customers with open orders have no reason for concern, as our intention is to fulfill all orders. We are financially strong and continue to enjoy great relationships with our many quality vendors.”

Mehran enlisted liquidation specialist Planned Furniture Promotions to manage the sale and transition. “We are pleased to be assisting Huffman Koos for this important event,” said Rob Rosenberg, PFP president. “With the continuing evolution of the retail furniture business, helping our clients successfully reinvent their business model is becoming the fastest growing part of the services that we provide.”

Everything in Huffman Koos’ eight stores will be sold before the renovations begin. Huffman Koos features furniture and bedding products from well-known brands such as Natuzzi Editions, Serta, Simmons, Klaussner, Universal, Legacy, Craftmaster and many other fine manufacturers. A huge selection of product will be available during the sale event, with deep discounts on furniture, mattresses, accessories and fine oriental rugs, imported from around the world.

More about Huffman Koos: Huffman Koos supports a wide variety of community causes, including Save The Children, Autism Speaks, Meals on Wheels and Smile Train. Mehran also is the co-founder of Community Outreach Services, a food pantry in Paterson, N.J.
