Industry Veteran And eCommerce Expert Richard Sexton Joins MicroD As Chief Product Officer

MicroD LLC, a provider of integrated online product presentation, websites, ecommerce, and EDI solutions for the home furnishings industry, recently welcomed Richard Sexton to its leadership team as Chief Product Officer. Sexton brings extensive executive leadership and hands-on experience in home furnishings retail, ecommerce and internet marketing to this new role, in which he will be responsible for MicroD’s new products strategic management and digital marketing managed services.

Prior to joining MicroD, Sexton built the home furnishings business Carolina Rustica from the ground up over 15 years, eventually selling to Mattress USA Inc., but remaining as president until early 2015. Under Sexton’s leadership, the firm pioneered omnichannel ecommerce technology to grow into a multi-million dollar high-end retailer of leading brands of furniture, bedding and accessories. Since then, Sexton has been helping other companies with their ecommerce and digital strategies specializing in website usability, conversion rates and SEO. In his most recent role, he was the Vice President of Member Engagement at AAA Carolinas where he realigned internal capabilities to maximize membership growth and retention through digital innovation. Sexton has also been a featured presenter at various industry conferences including, IRCE, eTail East / eTail West, NEMOA, and many others. He has written articles for various industry and ecommerce publications. Sexton holds a Master of Management degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
