Kincaid Introduces Two New Collections

Furniture World News Desk on 4/19/2017

Kincaid Furniture has introduced two new collections, both inspired by geographical muses. The solid wood industry leader will debut its designs at the spring High Point Market.

“We’ve made it a top priority to deliver furniture that’s designer-inspired but also endures the test of time and wear, and visitors will see that at High Point Market this year,” said Tim Annas, vice president of merchandising for Kincaid. “Our new introductions embody the way furniture used to be made. From using original spit tacks in sofas to emphasizing natural character, we go to great lengths to give each piece its own personality.”

Plank Road is a whole range of bedroom, dining room, and occasional furniture, uniting a combination of charcoal and brown stone finishes. A sister collection to Weatherford, the two-toned furniture features the familiar uneven planks, but with cleaner lines making it a more modern version. The Plank Road collection is crafted from solid New Zealand pine with framed end panels, which creates a striking look from every angle. Natural textures in the furniture are accentuated, giving dining tables and dressers character lines and an authentic, one-of-a-kind feel. Specific design aspects noticeable throughout the collection include prominent bullnose drawer fronts and door frames, rough-hewn high/low planked panels, riveted metal table brackets, and custom bar pull hardware. The rough-hewn technique used on the lumber gives Plank Road two new finishes, serving a broad variety of customers with homes from coast to country.

The best of European styling from countries like France, Italy, United Kingdom, Spain and Portugal, which have long created beautiful, authentic pieces for daily use, inspired the Claridge collection. Claridge is a European Cottage inspired group made from white oak, combining the motif of provincial European antiques with architectural elements and graceful serpentine curves. This charming and sophisticated collection is highlighted by well-executed details that include raised panels, contrasting solid woods, tapered legs, and coining motifs. These pieces are rendered in a worn, distressed, weathered gray or weathered vintage blue called Lapis. Custom-designed decorative hardware polish each piece off with a floral inspired ring pull, a matching knob, and a sculptural bail with rosettes in an antique pewter finish.

Kincaid is also modernizing its custom upholstery offerings at High Point Market; in addition to more choices in upholstery styles, furniture introductions feature options from high-end key arms to custom sofa width. This season, Kincaid is highlighting life in color, adding black and green hues to the Premier Color Program to create a unique opportunity for consumers to pair neutrals and vibrant colors in their home. Kincaid will continue its successful build-your-own programs, providing consumers with more than 16,000 custom options.

Products will be on display in the 75,000-square-foot showroom for Kincaid, American Drew and Hammary, located in C926 on the ninth floor of the International Home Furnishings Center.
