Furniture World News Desk on 1/23/2013

The Midwest Furniture Club announced the dates for the 2013 Midwest Furniture Show, returning to the  Schaumburg Convention Center on September 25th and 26th, 2013. The Midwest Furniture Show is sponsored by the Midwest Furniture Club, the Chicago-based IHFRA organization.

Geoff Weed returns in his role as Show Coordinator this year. “This is the 7th year of putting on our Show. We worked out a great deal with a great facility and are excited to return to the Schaumburg Convention Center.”

Last year’s Show attracted several hundred retailers, designers and rental companies and featured about 80 exhibitors. Furniture companies such as Aspen, John Thomas, HomElegance, Natuzzi Editions, Ashley and World Imports and bedding companies such as Englander, King Coil, Five Star by Serta, Restonic, Boyd Specialty and Corsicana anchored the show. Local distributors Titanic and Brady Furniture, joined a number of service and transportation companies and marketing and web services to provide attendees the opportunity to look at all aspects of their business.

The costs for exhibitors is remaining at $3.50 a square foot for spaces over 500 feet. Exhibitors sending in deposits after March 30th will pay $4 a square foot. Smaller spaces (under 500 feet) are available for service companies, advertising and marketing firms, transportation companies and accessory vendors at a rate of $4 per foot. Each rental space must have one current member of the Midwest Furniture Club in attendance. Anyone interested in attending or exhibiting can register www.midwestfurnitureshow.com or contact Geoff Weed at midwestfurnitureshow@gmail.com.

Included in the rental cost is rental space, marketing, pipe-and-drape and carpeting, a prime venue, free breakfast and lunch for exhibitors and attendees, access to many independent retailers in a major market, staging and storage assistance, and a lively social hour.

“It’s a labor of love, with many IHFRA reps contributing to the Midwest furniture community. We want to keep our business growing across the spectrum of furniture outlets,” says Weed. “We are looking forward to another great Show in the fall.”
