Lexington Home Brands Introduces Digital COM Customization Tool at High Point Market

Lexington Home Brands has launched a new digital feature that allows designers and consumers to visualize upholstery
products in their own fabric selections. The web-based tool, developed in partnership with 3D/AR platform provider
Intiaro, supports Customer’s Own Material (COM) customization with photorealistic visualization and augmented
reality capabilities.
This new COM tool uses AI-driven pattern recognition to render Lexington upholstery products in any uploaded fabric
image. Accessible via mobile devices or desktop computers, the platform is designed to make the COM process more
user-friendly and to expand accessibility for customers interested in personalized furniture options.
"COM represents a significant and growing component of our upholstery business," said Michael Yarbrough, vice
president of digital marketing for Lexington Home Brands. "This innovative technology will make custom upholstery
more accessible to interior designers and consumers. It will drive growth by simplifying what has traditionally been
a complex process, limiting mistakes, and lowering the barrier of entry for customization. The partnership with
Intiaro has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life."
Users can upload or drag and drop a fabric image or photo onto any compatible product listing. The system
automatically creates a seamless fabric pattern and allows manual adjustment for scale and positioning. Users can
also view fabric texture in detail and generate downloadable tear sheets for client presentations. The tool includes
Intiaro’s web-based Generative AR, enabling users to view customized pieces within their own spaces via mobile
devices without the need to download an app.
According to Lexington Home Brands, the feature addresses increased interest in personalized furniture. Market data
from 2023 valued the custom home furniture segment at $102.3 billion, with projections estimating the market will
exceed $150 billion by 2031. The COM category specifically caters to high-end consumers and those seeking design
flexibility, and it continues to grow in relevance as retailers seek differentiated offerings.
"COM is an important revenue stream for a number of our clients, but until now no one had properly addressed it due
to the traditionally tedious visualization process that was difficult to justify in ROI terms,” said Michal
Stachowski, CCO and co-founder of Intiaro. “With our new COM feature, anyone can drape an item with any fabric
in a process that takes less than 30 seconds, with no specialized skills required.
“We're excited to see Lexington Home Brands become an early adopter of this revolutionary feature. The COM
capability was something we discussed early in our partnership, recognizing it as a difficult-to-service but crucial
part of Lexington's business. We're thrilled to make specifying a COM a simpler and quicker process that will allow
more designers to create unique propositions for their clients while removing some of the communication challenges
inherent in the process.”
Lexington Home Brands is introducing the feature during Spring High Point Market. The tool is live and available for
use through the company's website and digital product listings.
