North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) honored Bernhardt Furniture Company for its commitment to furniture exports.

Exporting goods and services helps to support the economy and job growth in North Carolina, accounting for some 370,000 jobs in the State, according to the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C.

Bernhardt and five other North Carolina companies were presented with The Governor’s Export Award at the Governor’s Mansion in Raleigh on January 14, 2019.

“We’re pleased to be recognized by Governor Cooper for our dedication to exports,” said Peter Hancock, Vice President of Bernhardt Export Sales. “As a global leader in furniture design, Bernhardt’s products are sought out worldwide – which supports our company’s job growth right here in North Carolina.”

“Thanks to Bernhardt’s product designers and our international sales team, exports have played an important role in the company’s double-digit job growth in the past five years,” Hancock said. Bernhardt products are currently available in retail stores and through interior designers in 47 countries.
