Habersham To Leave High Point Market After 34 Years

Furniture World News Desk on 9/7/2015

As part of a long-term strategy designed to further expand its custom capabilities and diversify its cabinetry offerings, Habersham is taking a temporary leave from the High Point Market after a consecutive 34-year presence as a tenant in the Market Square building. While the Georgia-based furniture and cabinetry manufacturer will not participate in the upcoming Fall 2015 High Point Market, plans for a future return are in the works.

"The High Point Market has been an integral part of Habersham's history and success, so our decision to leave temporarily wasn't an easy one," explains Matt Eddy, CEO, Habersham. "Over the years, our focus has continued to evolve from handcrafted furniture into the custom furniture and cabinetry arena and we have some exciting plans in the works to significantly expand and diversify these offerings. To reach these new goals - without ever losing sight of our current dealer /designer needs, or sacrificing the quality craftsmanship and service commitments that are our hallmarks - we felt it important to redirect all of our resources back to our Georgia headquarters for the short term. We definitely plan to return to High Point."

Among the new initiatives is the planned October 2015 launch of a new premium | custom kitchen and bath cabinetry line that represents a new market focus for Habersham. Joining the company's classically-styled, luxury custom cabinetry and furniture designs, the new line will include a versatile range of trend-driven, frameless cabinetry styles, and wide range of custom options.

As one of the first tenants in High Point's Market Square building, Habersham has participated in every market since 1981.

Founded by Joyce Eddy in 1972, Habersham built its reputation on high-quality, handcrafted and hand-painted furniture designs. Over the years, the focus has expanded to include more custom offerings, with a growing emphasis on custom furniture and cabinetry designs - available in countless hand-styled finish options -- for every room in the home, including the kitchen and bath, dressing room library, great room, wine cellar and more.
