At the upcoming winter 2016 Las Vegas Market, Stanley Furniture will debut a new 78-piece collection titled Virage. Informed by mid-century modern French design, Virage combines stark lines and clean surfaces with subtle moulding details and sweeping arched plinth bases. Throughout this new contemporary collection, design details are brought to life through the use of cock bead ovals and circles framing luxuriant starburst veneers.
“For more than half a century, contemporary furniture has been a tradition within Stanley Furniture,” says Randy Wells, Vice President, Creative. “As evidenced by the mid-century modern designs of our flagship Heritage Collection and most recently our Crestaire collection, contemporary styling is an important part of our brand’s design language.”
The Virage design speaks to a clean, uncluttered aesthetic in keeping with the way people want to live today. The collection is presented in two distinct finish palettes including Truffle, a decadent brown wood finish which showcases the fiery warmth of cherry veneers accented by a lightly striated Caviar black paint and glowing hand-applied Antique Gold Leaf highlights. In the alternative, a matte grey Basalt wood finish on pecan veneers lends an organic feel to the beautiful grain patterns buttressed by a lightly striated cool, dark brown Flint paint and hand-applied genuine Antique Silver Leaf highlights.
“Our Virage collection is aptly named for the daring turns, or virages, of the Circuit de Monaco where the famed Monaco Grand Prix has been run in the neighborhood of Monte Carlo since 1929,” says Wells. “We believe this authentic, exciting collection is deserving of the title.”
