Kingsdown Announces Crown Imperial Line

Furniture World News Desk on 5/10/2016

North Carolina-based Kingsdown, Inc., recently announced its six-model Crown Imperial Collection has been introduced at the High Point Market.

The  collection is handcrafted by artisans and incorporates a tufted silk and wool cover with embroidered crest featuring the Kingsdown crown ensconced within a wreath. The well-tailored hybrid collection boasts a construction story of micro coils and pocketed coils combined with gel-infused memory foam for the ultimate in supportive comfort.

Priced to retail from $1,999 to $3,999 in queen, beds in Kingsdown’s Crown Imperial range from a 13-inch profile to a plush 16.5-inch profile. Each model carries a 10-year warranty.

Mattresses in the Crown Imperial line feature refined names like Empire, Sceptre, Crest, Imperial Mantle and Crown Marquis that bring to mind exquisite castles from a regal era.

“Detailed, luxurious, handcrafting is an important part of our 114-year legacy, and Crown Imperial builds on that tradition,” said Frank Hood, president and CEO. “Retailers and consumers see Kingsdown as an upscale, sumptuous bedding resource. Our unveiling of Crown Imperial solidifies us in that arena. Higher margin beds remain a key growth area in the bedding category, and we’re thrilled to add the luxury SKUs to give our retail partners an edge in the high-end sector.”

The collection will be manufactured in Kingsdown’s Mebane, N.C., production facilities.

Crown Imperial was shown during the company’s return to the High Point Market as a rich complement to the company’s Passions Collection, which retails from $699 to $1,699, and Downton Abbey, which retails from $1,699 to $4,999.
