Hooker Furniture recently announced that their new 84-piece collection, Miramar, will make its debut at the Fall High Point Market. The collection features three distinctive looks that come together through the creative use of mixed materials including granite, honed Carrera marble, embossed leather accents, carved elements, seeded glass, metal accents and a variety of textured fabrics.

Crafted with combinations of rustic oak, flakey oak and salvaged lumber, each of the three 28-piece groups – Aventura, Point Reyes and Carmel – offer a unique design aesthetic for the bedroom, dining room and occasional categories. Aventura offers simple, pure forms with linear lines in rustic oak with a smoky Arabica finish, Point Reyes incorporates a casual, modern design with a Southern California feel with its flakey oak, soft two-tone finish, while Carmel features an organic modern story that pairs flakey oak with salvaged lumber.

“Miramar truly takes a world view of design with each of its specific lifestyles, allowing us to address a wide range of consumers,” said Steve Lush, president of Hooker Furniture case goods. “While each group stands on its own, pieces from Aventura, Point Reyes and Carmel can also seamlessly blend together to create a truly, one-of-a-kind, curated look. Every detail, down to the custom-designed hardware, has been developed perfectly to deliver a unique experience, inspired by global designs.

Highlights of the Aventura group include a round dining table – available with a 48- or 60-inch top – featuring a uniquely textured hammered metal pedestal base with a lustrous finish. The quarter-matched veneer table top and the base are finished in a similar tone for a seamless tone-on-tone look.

Additional pieces in Aventura include a 32-inch wide rectangular “friendship” dining table that expands from 60 inches to 84 inches and can serve as a kitchen table or as writing table. The group features two beds – a canopy bed and a biscuit-tufted upholstered panel bed – and a selection of occasional tables, including a round end table, a square martini table and a cocktail table.

A wardrobe featuring an intricate, hand-carved sunburst-like design on its double doors from top to bottom is the centerpiece in Point Reyes. Other Point Reyes bedroom pieces include a button- less tufted upholstered bed with a wood picture-frame detail, a dresser with a floating base design and a dramatic mirror that features alligator-embossed leather. Dining pieces include a rectangular table, a round table, a leather bucket dining chair, and a display cabinet featuring seeded glass and warm lighting. A collection of occasional pieces include a media console featuring embossed leather drawers, and a cocktail table, end table and console tables with architectural metal bases.

A low-profile, modern panel bed woven with Danish cord offers textural interest to Carmel. The interplay between the coarsely woven texture of the bed with the Flemish gray, sand-blasted finish provides an abundance of dimensional appeal. Each piece in the Carmel bedroom is designed with a low profile, a key modern design element. Other pieces include 26- and 34-inch nightstands and a linear dresser. In the dining room, Danish cord details can be found on dining, bar and counter chairs for continuity. Additional dining pieces include a rectangular table with highly textured, bent metal legs, a square glass-top table with a concave square base made of salvaged lumber, a buffet with quarter-matched veneer and a bar cabinet. Occasional offerings include a marble-top martini table, cocktail table and end tables. The case pieces are finished with textured metal pulls.
