INFO ON UNIQUE FURNITURE MAKERS

Post New Topic

Dear Russ, Can you help me, or tell me where to look for information about my antique oak table and chairs? They were made by the Unique Furniture Makers, Winston-Salem, and are stamped on the bottoms of the chairs and table, "Constitution Oak", serial no. 8652. The specific design is no. 54 for the chairs and table. My parents bought them used, and now they have been in my family for nearly 50 years. Any information you can give me will be very much appreciated! Thank you,

Dear Alice, Unique has been out of business for about 25 years or so. The factory, was based in Winston Salem, NC and founded in 1854 as the JC Spach Wagon Works, Inc., and started manufacturing dinettes in 1922. The company made nice quality furniture and boasted having some very long running groups. I wouldn't expect that they are very valuable if sold on the open market.
