Russ, Hello, I have inherited a china cabinet from our great aunt and I am trying to do some research about it. The only information I have is the name of the furniture company and the city it was located. I have researched the local libraries, do you have any suggestions? China Cabinet C.M. Bott Furniture Co. Located in Buffalo, NY

I have a full dining room suite. Table with leaves (latching mechanism still works), six chairs one captain with original material, server, and long buffet with original velvet in drawers. We purchased it many years ago at central Ontario antique dealership. Family has now grown and we are downsizing and looking to sell entire set. Presently researching value but open to offers.

So funny that so many others inherited a china cabinet from a great aunt with a paper C.M. Bott Furniture Company, Buffalo, NY label on the back. Me too! My great aunt lived in NYC.

I have beveled glass sides and glass door with key China Cabinet. The Name on it is CM Bott Furniture Company Maker of East Ferry & Erioe, RR Buffalo. Then is says Benz & Sons, Oswego, NY #7896. It was my mom's and I am not a antique lover. I would like to sell it. Do you have any ideals who would be interested in it.

I am pleased to know some of the history of C M Bott furniture. I have an old mirrord dresser with an oval shaped mirror with a flower lightly engraved on a piece sticking slightly out at the top of the mirror. The four side drawers are engraved also with flowers as well as the knobs. There is one drawer in the middle and two drawers on each side. It was inherited from my mother who had bought it at a second hand store many years ago.
I have thought it was made in the 1920's or 30's. It has a paper label on the lower right back with the C M Bott Furniture Co, Makers of Eastferry & Erie R. R., Buffalo, New York. The words dining room furniture are there also. The dresser looks like a bedroom piece, however. Does anyone know if they specialized in bedroom furniture also?
The mirror is detachable and has four bolts to hold it in place. I hope to send a picture when I can.

I have a full dining se, long buffet, server and ahuge china closet. I also inherited it from a great aunt. Mine has large pinapple motif. Th table was bruned in a house fire around 1925 and replaced by a Duncan Fife harped table. Any info is requested, I cannot find anything about it either. I live in Pittsburgh PA.

I also have a C M Bott china cabinet. Curious as to the overall appearance of your cabinet. Mine was shipped to the Merchandise Mart in Chicago per the label (partial) on the back. hudder@earthlink.net

I checked a directory of NY furniture manufacturers we published in 1941 but couldn't find a listing. Beyond that, I don't have any resources that might help. Perhaps one of our readers will know more.
