Trying To Reach Peoplounger

Post New Topic

I am trying to reach the peoplounger company but all of the phone numbers that I find are disconnected. Is this company still in business? I need to order parts for a lounger and would like to either order them direct or from a store that carries peoploungers in central Mass. Thank you for any help

People Lounger factory was located near Tupelo, Miss. and they went bankrupt sometime in 2007, I contacted them about my dual recliner sofa lifetime warranty on recliner mechanism and the service man suggested I order both sides and just pay the shipping because the company was going bankrupt any day, I did claim/order replacement mechanisms for both sides and paid the additional shipping and I'm glad he was honest about the future of the company since it was still being sold locally at Comeaux's furnitture store in Metairie, Louisiana that week and they had no idea the company was going out of business any day. I went to the store to ask about how to institute  the lifetime warranty on the recliner mechanisms and they gave me the factory phone # as I was looking at my same sofas on display in their show room.

I have a peoplounger loveseat with dual recliners separated by an armrest with a storage compartment. I am in need of the plastic box in the storage compartment and also what I call a stabilizer bar under the footrest of the one recliner. Does anyone know where I can order these parts from since Peoplounger went out of business? Thanks

Yeah Ken, the spring plates on my recliner broke too.The only thing I can find on the net built differently. I can't mount them so it will work. One upholster told me he'd repair it for $400. I'll buy a new before I do that. Does anyone have any suggestions or contacts that can point me to where I can find replacement springs.
Thanks,
Al

I have the same problem, Jerad. I am looking for a power source for the dual massage feature. Have you had any luck?

From Jerad, 4/15/2010  11:55 AM

Thanks Lisa for the number for elite! I wonder if anyone has my problem: no power source for the dual massage in a 2001 Peoplounger sectional.

The captain's chair, as well as the recliner on each end of the sectional, are wired for dual massage. I can see the massage motors on the back of the chair. However, I cannot figure out how to power them.

Any tips on where/how I could plug them in to operate this never-used massage feature of the used sectional I was given?

Did some research, Peoploungers closed in June. The creditors held a auction on all the parts as well as the factory machinery. JC Pennys sold this brand, you may be able to find parts through them. My recliner handle broke this morning, and I am looking for parts too.   I cannot believe they made all their own parts in house. There has to be a supplier out there than can get parts.

From M. Jacklich, 2/25/2010  6:11 PM

Do you have an update to their phone number? I just called the number and it doesn't connect properly. I'm looking for a replacement handle. Let them know my recliner was purchased over 18 years ago and is still a joy!

From Bonnie in fl, 2/17/2010  8:28 PM

Yahoo, people who have the same problem with the recliner cable and handle, at least I don't feel like the lone stranger anymore.
Thanks for the info will try to reach the company first.
A friend told me to use a bicycle brake cable, does that sound feasible?
Love my recliners and want them fixed!

From Cheri, 1/3/2010  11:57 AM

I found a company in England that sells it. The shipping was free. The website is www.jmupholstery.com They have pictures on the web site. They even sent me instructions on how to take it apart. I just received the part and put it on today. Or you can email Jeff at jeff@jmupholstery.com

I would like to repair my Peoplounger recliner, and cannot get anywhere or any information on their website. The dealer I purchased the recliners from in 1997 is out of business.
Anyone have any current info on contacting them?

From Guest, 1/7/2006  3:18 PM

Try 662-963-7301. The area code has been changed. Also www.peoploungers.net.

I posted your inquiry to furnifno.com so that retailers in central Mass can respond. The latest listing I have for the company (who will not sell you direct) is PEOPLOUNGERS INC., HWY 6, NETTLETON, MS 38858, 601-963-7301 -Russell
