Studio 882, a luxury furniture and design store, reported that it recently opened it's first location in Chadds Ford, PA.
Studio 882’s mission is to offer interior designers, and the general public, a comprehensive inventory of high-end furniture, art, and accessories. Owners Chad and Katie Groves champion a shared philosophy that furniture should be beautifully designed, impeccably made, designed to last a lifetime, and usable in a variety of interior styles, thereby offering meaning to those who own it for generations to come.
Studio 882 boasts an impressive list of well known and highly coveted brands including Baker, Kindel, Julian Chichester, Chaddock, and CR Laine, a stunning line by Symbol Audio for the design-savvy collector who takes their music as seriously as their furnishings, and several other brands including a number of artisans scattered throughout North America such as Elpis & Wood.
The company says it will have the largest retail collection of Baker furniture in the Greater Philadelphia and Wilmington areas. In addition, Studio 882‘s selection of Kindel furniture offers clients the chance to own a special reproduction of Dorothy Draper’s iconic work, including her designs from landmark luxury hotels such as The Carlyle in NYC, The Drake in Chicago, or The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C in the 1930’s and 1940’s.
The Studio 882 showroom features room vignettes, which combine vintage and contemporary design. The showroom was designed to evoke the focused and tranquil environment of a museum or gallery, displaying each collection of furniture like pieces of art placed delicately together. The sun-drenched 3800 square-foot space is flanked by bright white walls and poised with oversized windows, and offers a central location at the corner of Hickory Hill Rd. and Baltimore Pike. Studio 882 offers customers the convenience of a parking lot that is shared with one of the area’s largest antique markets as well as a popular café.
Chad and Katie Groves each have over 12 years of business experience in corporate start-ups, sales, business management, and marketing. Katie has also enjoyed a successful career as an interior designer. In addition to working as an interior designer in the local market, Katie has worked professionally designing spaces in Chicago, Baltimore, and Australia. Chad and Katie live with their two sons in an 18th century farmhouse in Glen Mills, which Katie designed. Upon their move to the area in 2010, Chad and Katie realized there was a need in their local market and they began to envision a place where homeowners could shop and find special, finely crafted pieces to mix and incorporate into their existing design. “Our customer is someone who appreciates the importance of purchasing something that will last forever. They choose well, rather than often,” said Chad Groves, “This focus on quality and longevity not only provides Studio 882's clients with a timeless décor but it also adds a bit of a sustainable approach.”
Studio 882 is located at 882 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford, PA 19317. Store hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10am-6pm. Wednesday 10am-8pm, and by appointment. For more information visit
