The Washington Design Center announced that Kelley Proxmire, a highly-recognized and sought after designer in the Washington design community for the past 25 years, is the latest designer to be inducted into The Washington Design Center’s Hall of Fame. Kelley is known for her signature “tailored traditional” styling and has long wowed Washingtonians with her fresh take on timeless design. Magazine editors have praised Kelley for how she contrasts crisp, bold colors with neutrals to create inviting rooms filled with delightful details. She has been featured in many regional and national publications, including (but not limited to) Southern Accents, Traditional Home, Home & Design, Washington Spaces and Washingtonian Magazine. Kelley has been a longstanding patron of The Washington Design Center and has participated in numerous local showhouses, both here in the building and elsewhere. Many have been in coordination with various charities including the NSO Women’s Committee and the Center for Family Development. Additionally, in Fall 2008, Kelley participated in the Susan G. Komen for the cure showhouse in NYC. The theme was a "holiday house" and Kelley designed the "30th Wedding Anniversary room." She is an active volunteer at the Church of the Little Flower in Bethesda, MD. Kelley is also a member of the Chevy Chase Club and the Sulgrave Club. “Kelley’s work has long been admired by many in the Washington region and her contributions to the community have enhanced the quality and culture of Washington DC,” said John H. Brennen III, executive vice president, MMPI. “We’re thrilled to recognize such great talent and induct her into the Hall of Fame.” About The Washington Design Center: Dedicated to providing the finest in home furnishings to the design trade, The Washington Design Center houses over 60 wholesale residential, commercial, and building products showrooms.
